More about my professional experience
Arriving in Canada and Making an Immediate Impact
Less than a year after arriving in Canada, I became a member of CultureLink's Board of Directors and served as Chair from 2017 to 2020. CultureLink is an organization dedicated to helping newcomers settle and integrate into Toronto. At the same time, from 2022 to 2024, I worked for the Ontario federal government, where I received several awards and accolades, including an Instant Award for my "innovative work."
Guiding Newcomers and Refugees
I’ve had the privilege of guiding new immigrants and refugee claimants through federal, provincial, and city services, helping them integrate, find employment, and access essential services. My experiences have allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the newcomer community here in Canada.
Empowering Through Education and Advocacy
I worked as a Project Coordinator at the Al-Qazzaz Foundation for Education and Development, where I manage two projects. I focus on working with newcomer women, providing grassroots programming that addresses key gaps in their education, as well as their social and emotional settlement needs.
